Bio: The patient is a 70-year-old woman who suffered bunions and other foot deformities most of her life. She is a practicing architect who is very active in her daily life. She put off surgery for decades out of concern for prolonged recovery periods and pain.
Procedure: The patient and Dr. Geldwert decided on HyperFlex®️in order to correct the bunion at the source and realign the toe to its proper position while also hoping to avoid a lengthy and painful recovery.
Result: Patient reported minimal pain after surgery and was very pleased with the recovery process. She was weight-bearing in sneakers 2 weeks post-op without pain. She has been able to return to her job, and the alignment of the joint has remained stable.
